welcome to the NEW downtempo.org!
so after much thought, i've taken down the old postnuke-based content management system, and moved to a simpler blog entry system for posting about downtempo music, and life in general.
i loved the old system, but i just didn't have the time to adequately maintain and develop it, so i wanted to do something that was easier for me to keep up, as well as to blog about life in general.
so check it out, enjoy, and don't worry, there's always some good radio to listen to around here!

i have being buying and playing downtempo for several years now. It's the only genre that has not let my down. there's always something to buy. Some of the best music you'll ever hear.

I was cruising around shoutcast.com and saw a listings of downtempo stations and for some reason it just clicked that I should check back here. I'm really glad to see that the shoutcast stream is back. When the Nap stopped being availiable via shoutcast awhile back, I ended up setting up my own radio station for my own personal use while at work. My co-workers and I always loved listening to the Nap given that it is usually pretty tense there. The Afternoon Nap made life livable. :~)

Created end 2000, CIPHER is french trip-hop band from Lille, with and electro and rock sound leaded by pop and atmospheric tunes.
Cipher’ sound is a melting of contrasted element ( the cold sounds of keyboards and rock-metal guitars / the warm and sweet voice ; the guitars rhythm and the electronic loops / the evolving, modulated and light singing) giving birth to an atmospheric and introspective music.
